Rattlesnake Hill

Our May campout will take us to Rattlesnake Hill Wildlife Management Area.

Estimated Schedule

Saturday, May 16

breakfast on your own

0845 - Everyone arrives at United Church of Pittsford (123 S. Main St)

0900 - Depart from church (driving directions)

1000 - Arrive at Rattlesnake Hill WMA

 

Hike for 5-6 miles. Scouts will be responsible for navigating us to our destination. I will bring maps, but also bring any non-electronic navigation aids.

1200 - Arrive at camping site, prepare lunch

1300 - Set up camp, free time for fishing and other activities

1700 - prepare dinner​

Sunday, May 17

​0548 - sunrise

0600 - reveille

0700 - prepare breakfast

0800 - hike back to cars

1000 - arrive back at cars

1100 - estimated arrival back at church

COST:  $0 per scout/adult

PACKING LIST:  A scout is prepared! look at the forecast and dress for hiking and camping. We will be hiking all our gear in, so make sure that you have everything and it isn't too heavy. Some good choices for packing include:

  • sleeping bag

  • camping pad

  • mess kit with a spoon

  • headlight/flashlight

  • 3-4 liters of water

  • layers of non-cotton, moisture-wicking clothing for hiking

  • winter hat

  • multiple pairs of gloves

  • rain-resistant jacket

  • hiking boots (broken in)

  • change of clothing for sleeping
