This is FarFetched
FarFetched Enterprises is a new organization dedicated to supporting the trail running community in Rochester and the Finger Lakes Region. Our partnership began with race directing for the Innovative Edge Cross Country series. We enjoyed the experience so much, that we started up this little venture. Our first event was hosting the Trail Running Film Festival at the Little Theatre on April 22, 2023. Around the same time we approached Goose Adventure Racing about bringing back the Ontario Summit Trail Races in 2023, and they were gracious enough to let us give it a try.
We started off 2024 by partnering with Goose to create the Common Ground Winter Trail Series and continued with IEXC, the Film Festival, and Ontario Summit. We're bringing all of this back for 2025 plus some new additions that are bound to entertain.

Teague Ruder
Race Director
Teague began his running career at Fairport High School, where he was best known for having a much faster older brother. He continued running throughout college at SUNY Geneseo, where he first became teammates with Jamie. After a brief 20 year recovery period, Teague started up racing again, but now mainly hitting the trails. This renaissance soon coincided with a return to the Rochester area, and a renewal of his love for the people and places that make this running community so special.
Jamie Adams
Chief Runner, Assistant to the Race Director
Jamie started his race directing career early, by organizing races around the block with neighborhood kids. He continued on racing at East High School, and then on to SUNY Geneseo. Since then he's gone on to run some of the biggest trail races in the country. When not race directing, you'll likely find him running trails wearing a basketball jersey or playing basketball wearing a running jersey.
Guiding Principles
(1) Fun. We're doing this to have fun and we want all our participants to be having fun as well. Don't get me wrong, putting on and completing the events is hard, but we always try to make it fun as well.

(2) Community. We believe that the Rochester-area running community is something special that has given a lot to us. We see our events as opportunities to strengthen the community through post-race gatherings, supporting local vendors, and partnering with different organizations.

(3) Volunteerism. Our events run on the spirit of volunteerism. We try hard to reward our volunteers with things like food, swag, race entries, and revenue sharing. We also regularly volunteer throughout the year for events and clubs.
(4) Athlete-driven. We've participated in a lot of races - good and bad, fast and slow, far and short, hot and cold, trail and road. This experience guides the choices we make for creating an event that we'd enjoy, and hopefully our participants enjoy as well.
(5) Accessibility. We try to keep event fees as low as possible while also following principles (1) - (4). We also provide options like shorter distances, early starts, and flexible registration policies to help encourage everyone to come out.
