Frozen Assets Endurance Run

Estimated January 3, 2026

Race Details

Frozen Assets Endurance Run is a winter race on the trails of Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area on January 3, 2026. This new event is founded on the storied traditions of Frozen Assets Snowshoe Race and S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race, but without snowshoes or bikes. The distance will be around 10k - but subject to change due to trail and weather conditions.

Price: $20 (+ $3.75 in UltraSignup fees) registration fee. No price increases.

Common Ground Winter Trail Series

Frozen Assets Endurance Run is the first race in the Common Ground Winter Trail Series, a collaboration between FarFetched Enterprises and Goose Adventure Racing. The goal of the series is bringing together the trail running community to get out on the trails over the winter and enjoy each other's company. Those who register for all races in the series will receive some special swag. The series contains the following events:

  • January 3, 2026 Frozen Assets Endurance Run

  • January 17, 2026 Mrs. McCormick's Ice House

  • February 1, 2026 Devil's Shadow Winter Trail Races

Location, Parking & Schedule

The race is on the beautiful trails of Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area. There is a large parking lot for all of your parking needs. Once you park, there is a short walk down Overlook Road to Race HQ. On the map, it is where Bear Cub Run meets the road and crosses to the Bypass trail.

10:00 AM - Check-in and same-day registration opens.
10:50 AM - Check-in and same day registration closes.

11:00 AM - Start of race.

12:00 PM - Post-Race festivities at Birdhouse Brewing.

Course

The course is an approximately 10k loop of mostly winding single track trail blazed for the S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race.

Shared Use

As much as possible, the course will avoid trails groomed for Nordic skiing, but runners should be respectful of these mixed-use trails. There will be two crossings over the C4 snowmobile trail. Snowmobiles have the right of way at the crossings, or honestly any time a runner and snowmobile attempt to share the same space.

Food & Drink

There will be a modest spread of food and drink at the start/finish area, including:

  • Warm Apple Cider Skratch Hydration

  • Water

  • Snacks and Gu gels

Post-race gathering will begin around noon at Birdhouse Brewing in Honeoye, about a 10-minute drive (or 1.5 hour run) from Harriet Hollister. All athletes as well as friends and family are welcome to join us whenever you're able. Highlights of the gathering are sure to include:

  • We're giving away stuff!

  • We've reserved the upstairs lounge. Perfect for all of your post-race lounging needs!

  • We're buying the first round! This includes Birdhouse craft beer, hot mulled apple cider (with or without whiskey), Blue Barn hard cider, or soda.

  • Birdhouse's award-winning food menu will be available for ordering, so bring your appetite and your wallets.

  • Wearing nice, comfortable, clean footwear that doesn't track snow and mud all over Birdhouse's beautiful floors!
