About the event
Start of the Game
We'll split into two teams: the predators and the prey. Teams will be assigned randomly at 9:00AM by drawing different colored buffs. We'll then take some time to review the rules, answer questions, and strategize, with an expected start time of 9:15AM. The prey will have a 5 minute head start out into the playing field.
Game Play
The field of play is defined by the area bordered by Pond Road, Douglas Road, Canfield Road, and the park's eastern border. Essentially the blue and green trails along with connectors. No road crossings or leaving the park.
Runners are encouraged to group up with teammates, especially if unfamiliar with the trails. Also strongly encouraged to bring a map and a phone.
The game will last one hour, during which everyone needs to keep moving and stay within the field of play. No stopping, hiding, or returning to the parking lot before the hour is up.
Prey are caught by being tagged. After a prey is caught, they relinquish their buff to the predator to make it clear they are out of the game. Prey will continue to run even after being caught.
End of the Game
After one hour has elapsed, the game is over and the prey are safe. Everyone is required to be back at the parking lot within 5 minutes of the end of the game to be considered a successful predator or surviving prey.
