About the event
On Friday, March 20th, the Genesee Valley Harriers in conjunction with FarFetched Enterprises will be hosting a showing of Boston: The Documentary at the beautiful Little Theatre. This feature-length documentary blends archival footage and athlete stories to tell the iconic race's 120-year history. Focusing on the race the year after the tragic events of 2013, the film celebrates the marathon as a symbol of unity, perseverance, and the enduring human spirit.

Immediately following the screening there will be a Q&A session with the film's Executive Producer Tom Derderian. Tom currently serves as the head coach of The Greater Boston Track Club and is the author of The Boston Marathon and long-time columnist for New England Runner magazine.
Tom is a ten-time Boston Marathon finisher, his first time as a senior in high school. In 1975 he placed 18th overall with a time of 2:19:04. former New England road race champion who ran in the Olympic Trials in 1972 and 1976 and worked on the Design and Development Team at Nike for most of the 1980s.
